In a concerted effort to provide the best in evaluation, diagnostics, and treatment for his patient’s, Dr. Wachs has received numerous post-graduate appointments and certifications. He has been appointed by the State of California, Industrial Medical Council, as a Qualified Medical Evaluator (Q.M.E.). He has been certified as an Industrial Disability Evaluator (I.D.E.). He participates as an examiner for the State of California, Disability Insurance Program (S.D.I.), as a certified Independent Medical examiner (I.M.E.).
Dr. Wachs was recognized nationally for providing chiropractic services to the emergency personnel during
Firestorm 2003
when wildfires struck San Diego and Southern California. The story of how Southern California Chiropractors came together to help California’s emergency workers was published in Today’s Chiropractic. Services were provided to local and national rescue/relief workers including the S.D.P.D., C.D.F. (California Department of Forestry), U.S. Military, and numerous local and out of state fire departments.
Once Again in 2007, Dr. Wachs served his community by providing chiropractic services to the emergency personnel during the relief efforts for WildFires 2007 . He continues to serve many local amateur, professional and elite athletes; all branches of the military including Navy Seals and Marines; local law enforcement; and has served as a member of the A.C.A. Sports Council Medical Staff at US Olympic Team Trials for Canoe/Kayak at the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center.
Dr. Wachs is an active member of the American Chiropractic Association Sport Council, has performed lectures and workshops at numerous businesses and civic organizations, and is regularly sought out as a wellness expert. He served on his local Little League Board of Directors for several years and spearheaded the building of a successful volunteer umpiring program as umpire-in-chief. The umpire in chief position on the Board of Directors was a position assigned to someone as a role model to the children, and someone who could recruit, train, and teach volunteer umpires and interpret rules. This also involved attendance at games to ensure safety, sportsmanship, and game control when required. His involvement in youth sports has led him to coaching over the past decade including his son’s travel baseball, Little League Baseball All-Star Teams, Pop Warner and High School football teams. With advancements being made each year in chiropractic, Dr. Wachs is an avid proponent of continuing education, and he is devoted to learning the latest and most scientific methods in order to provide the very best health care to his patient’s. By assisting his patient’s with all components of health, participants in Dr. Wachs' health care program take strides towards achieving their goals, reaching their fullest potential, and attaining optimum wellness through chiropractic care!
